Increasingly complex and fierce competition places greater emphasis on the ability of enterprises to raise and allocate resources. Entrepreneurs and strategic decision-making management need to shift from product thinking to financial thinking, from asset management to capital operation, and to integrate more quality resources for better corporate value management - on the premise of fulfilling the corporate vision, introducing new resources, new strategies and strategic investors, leveraging on the international capital market, and formulating an overall execution plan to maximise returns to shareholders and investors. This will in turn allow companies to realise sustainable growth over time.
Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) provide a boost to a company's growth by, for instance, expanding access to finance, obtaining greater capital raising capacity, increasing the liquidity of shares, enhancing the credibility and visibility of a company in the eyes of business partners and the public, reducing the personal investment and guarantees of the original shareholders, strengthening employees' sense of belonging, and thus engaging and retaining talented employees. IPOs have become a method of corporate legacy and allow companies to raise capital in the capital markets.
An IPO is a very broad corporate exercise, involving new ways of thinking regarding management training, business restructuring, divestment of non-core businesses, corporate governance, risk assessment, financial reporting, and operational processes.
Programme Objectives
The programme aims to develop systematic financial thinking among the core strategic executives of pre-listed companies, senior managers of financial-related organisations and controlling family members who are planning for capital operations to enable them to critically analyse the multi-layered capital markets of companies, apply capital thinking to build corporate financing channels, design corporate industrial capital strategies and prepare corporate listing arrangements, and breakthrough corporate financing bottlenecks. Students will also be able to understand the listing process and the roles of professional teams, and effectively lead their teams to implement listing-related projects - formulating appropriate pre-listing arrangements, listing execution plans and post-listing corporate governance and management plans.
By studying this programme, students will be able to:
- Develop a listing structure that meets the capital requirements of primary and secondary markets, major financial markets, and financial regulators, and apply a corporate capital strategy and analysis-related operations to effectively develop an overall corporate listing strategy.
- Integrate and organise all areas of expertise and practical skills in IPO planning to execute the IPO plan.
- Establish and standardise corporate governance and risk management systems to meet the expectations of stakeholders, including financial regulators and investors.
- Integrate IPO planning and develop appropriate wealth succession plans based on the wealth management needs of controlling shareholders (and families) and relevant market operating models.

Programme Features
Moving from a private company to a listed enterprise, a company faces a series of changes, including a change in corporate culture and structure. Before launching an IPO, management teams have rules to follow to assist companies in analysing the value that an IPO will create, planning the appropriate timing of the IPO, and finalising the location and the IPO model.
The programme takes a practical approach to assist students in properly addressing each aspect of the IPO preparation process that needs to be considered for planning, such as:
1. Preparation for an IPO - An IPO is a key event in the development of a business. It also provides an opportunity for companies to review their business strategies and further promote effective management practices.
2. Selecting the appropriate intermediary team - With the broad spectrum of capital market operations, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of different advisors is critical to the IPO process. Management can lead companies in selecting the best professional organisations and intermediary teams to provide services to them.
3. Project management and assessment of market conditions and investor preferences – In the face of volatile capital markets, the most important thing is to ensure that the timing of the IPO is right and that the project management of the whole process is revised in real-time to ensure that different important events in the process are completed on time.
4. Capital appreciation story and independent valuation – guide managers in the preparation of business plans in line with the direction of the business and changes in the investment market, while providing an independent valuation of the company's business to assess the IPO offer price.
5. Post-IPO market capitalisation management – assist managers in managing market expectations of the company in a way that is consistent with the company's growth plans and investor expectations.
