The Executive Programmes offered by the HKU Institute for China Business are dedicated to lifelong learning for C-suite executives and senior management professionals from across Mainland Chinese. Learning Journey

Residential Workshop

New students come together on HKU’s historic campus. Bringing business leaders and university faculty together, the workshop creates an immersive learning experience through keynote lectures, expert dialogues, interactive off-campus classes, institutional visits, and other engaging activities. It helps participants broaden their global perspectives and achieve new breakthroughs in thinking through exchange and collaboration.

Executive Programmes

Students complete four compulsory executive courses in Hong Kong, taught by leading scholars from around the world and prominent business leaders from the Asia-Pacific region. Drawing on global perspectives and practical experience, the courses help executives enhance their management capabilities and address real-world business challenges.

Industry Going Global (Asia, Europe & the U.S.)

Using overseas study tours as a platform, participants will visit renowned universities, institutions, and benchmark enterprises across Asia, Europe, and the United States to gain in-depth insights into business environments, industry ecosystems, market rules, and operating models in different regions, broaden their international perspective, and enhance their resource allocation capabilities, cross-border awareness, and strategic judgment. 

Executive Strategic Enrichment

Through PPES Executive General Education (Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Science), visits to government departments and related institutions, exchanges with chambers of commerce, associations, and benchmark enterprises, executive leadership salons, industry forums, and industry insights, the programme focuses on the forefront of industry development, offers insight into regional economic and global trends, brings together Hong Kong’s unique strengths and quality resources, supports enterprises in going global, and enhances participants’ macro-level judgment and strategic decision-making capabilities.

Final Project: Business Value Creation Practicum

As the capstone of the programme, the Final Project takes the form of a Business Value Creation Practicum and is completed through group collaboration. It aims to integrate the knowledge, methodologies, and analytical tools acquired across the core modules, and apply them to real business challenges. Under the guidance of project supervisors, students conduct research, analyse issues, and develop solution-oriented proposals, thereby strengthening their ability in interdisciplinary integration, strategic thinking, and value creation.

Graduation Ceremony

Graduates gather with their families and friends at HKU’s Main Campus to celebrate the successful completion of their studies and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Reunited on campus from different places, participants reflect on their hard work and personal growth while looking ahead with applause and best wishes to an even broader and more promising future.
