Dr. Ma Weihua is currently the Chairman of the China National Science and Technology Achievements Transformation Guidance Fund, Chair of the Board of the International Institute of Public Administration, member of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Impact Global Advisory Committee, President of the Social Value Investment Alliance, Vice President of the China Enterprise Confederation (chosen position), Chairman of One Foundation, Chairman of Hong Kong ChaoShang Group, and Non-Executive Director.

Dr. Ma Weihua previously served as Executive Director, President, and CEO of China Merchants Bank. He also held positions as Chairman of Wing Lung Bank in Hong Kong, CMB Trust and CMB Life Insurance, and CMB Fund Management. Additionally, he was Chairman of Bessen Financial, a Non-Executive Director, and a delegate to the 10th National People's Congress, as well as a member of the 11th and 12th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

In March 2019, he was appointed as a Special Advisor to the UN Development Programme Office in China and Chair of the Sustainable Development Finance Advisory Committee. In April of the same year, he joined the UN Development Programme's Sustainable Development Impact Investment Global Advisory Committee. Before joining China Merchants Bank, Mr. Ma held positions including Deputy Director and Deputy Secretary-General of Liaoning Provincial Planning Commission, roles within the Communist Party committees of Liaoning and Anhui provinces, Deputy Director of the General Office of the People's Bank of China, Deputy Director of the Planning and Funds Department, and Governor of the Hainan Branch of the People's Bank of China and Director of the Hainan Branch of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.

Dr. Ma Weihua holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Southern California, and is a Senior Economist.
