Dr Anthony Neoh is a legal expert, a Senior Counsel practicing in Hong Kong, Chief Advisor to the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), an Independent Non-Executive Director of CITIC Limited, and former Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.
Dr. Neoh has held positions such as a member of the Council and Listing Committee of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and he served as an acting High Court judge. In 1994, he became the first Chinese Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. In 1995, he was appointed Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, serving until 1998. He was elected Chairman of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Technical Committee in 1996 and became the Chief Advisor to the China Securities Regulatory Commission in 1998. In 2018, he was appointed Chairman of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Complaints Handling Committee. He was also awarded the title of Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance in June 2019.
Currently, Dr. Neoh is a member of the Council and Treasurer of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a member of the Council of the Shenzhen Campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a member of the Advisory Committee of Peking University’s School of Economics.
Dr. Neoh graduated from the Law Department of the University of London in the United Kingdom and is a Fellow of the International Eurasian Academy.
