David is currently an Independent Director of China Pacific Insurance Company.
Between 2020 and 2022, he was Head of Investment Bank, Asia Pacific, at UBS, and also served as the China Country Head of UBS Group. He was Head of Investment Banking Division, Asia for UBS based in Hong Kong between 2009 and 2015.
Prior to 2009, David had held various senior positions including Head of Financial Institutions Group and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions in UBS Asia.
He played an active role in business development for UBS, particularly in Hong Kong and China, including the formation of UBS Securities in China in 2007 and subsequent stake increases in 2018 and 2022, and UBS's US$500m investment in Bank of China in 2005. He led a wide range of capital market and M&A transactions for major clients in Asia.
He was a non-executive director of China Postal Savings Bank between 2016 and 2018, and served as guest lecturer at various universities. During the academic year 2015-16, he was a Visiting Bye Fellow at Selwyn College, Cambridge University.
David joined SG Warburg, a predecessor firm of UBS, in London in 1994, and moved to Hong Kong in 1996. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in London in 1993.
He has a MA degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
