Dr. Tang is the Head of Investment Management for Goldman Sachs Asia, responsible for centralized discretionary asset management for high net worth and institutional clients in Asia, and advising clients on strategic asset allocation and tactical investment strategies.

Prior to that, Dr. Tang was a macroeconomic strategist in Goldman Sachs' Investment Strategy Group, where he worked on Asia Pacific economies and global macro investment strategies. Dr. Tang joined Goldman Sachs in 2012 and became a Managing Director in 2019.

Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Dr. Tang worked at Credit Suisse as Head of Greater China Equity Research in its Private Banking and Asset Management division. Prior to that, he was Head of Hong Kong Equity Strategy at Merrill Lynch. Earlier, Dr. Tang was also an investment strategist at Brevan Howard Asset Management, where he managed its emerging markets hedge fund.

Dr. Tang has led a series of seminars on behavioural finance, sustainable finance, financial markets, asset allocation and investment management. He is also a Master's thesis supervisor at the Institute of Sustainability Leadership, University of Cambridge, UK and an advisor to the Asian Institute of Sustainable Technology. He holds a PhD in Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and an MSc from the University of Cambridge, UK.
