Ms. Carmen Yu is a cross-cultural, interdisciplinary innovation practitioner with extensive experience in business innovation strategy, science and technology innovation education, entrepreneurial ecosystem development, design thinking, and product and experience innovation.
In the field of enterprise innovation consulting, Carmen possesses rich practical experience. She has collaborated with international organizations such as IDEO and ExperiencePoint to design and deliver Design Thinking workshops for Fortune 500 companies, including AstraZeneca, Novartis, Tencent, and Coca-Cola. She excels at deeply integrating design thinking with real-world business scenarios, helping companies break through traditional boundaries to drive product innovation, user experience optimization, and organizational collaboration.
In the field of university and executive education, Carmen has been continuously advancing the systematic development of innovation and entrepreneurship education. She designed and delivered a systematic Project-Based Learning curriculum for the MBA+ program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and taught Design Thinking workshops for the FMBA program at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. By deeply integrating academic theory with business practice, she fosters the effective alignment of educational innovation with industry needs.
In the areas of tech innovation education and entrepreneurial mentoring, Carmen has been actively involved in the construction of several key innovation bases and incubators. She currently serves as a mentor for the SEED and DeepTech programs at Techno-Entrepreneurship Core at HKU. She has also served as an incubation mentor for the Shenzhen InnoX Academy and Songshan Lake XbotPark Robotics Base. She provides guidance to students and entrepreneurial teams from top universities such as Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Harbin Institute of Technology, offering support in product prototype development, business model validation, and financing strategies—helping to drive tech projects from the lab to the market.
Earlier in her career, Carmen led a complete IPO process, gaining substantial experience in capital operations and board governance. During her tenure as a business analyst at Elizabeth Arden in North America, she was responsible for product planning and channel coordination involving hundreds of millions of dollars, laying the foundation for her data-driven business decision-making capabilities.
She holds a BBA and MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and excels at integrating product innovation, experience strategy, and business model design from an interdisciplinary perspective, providing forward-looking and executable innovation empowerment for both enterprises and entrepreneurs.
