Steven has lived in Shanghai for more than 25 years. He is currently a Senior Advisor of a top international consulting company (there are only a few external experts in their network). His main projects include enterprise digital transformation, new retail, digital marketing and brand building; he is also a digital ecology and marketing advertising, generative AI consultant for many venture capitals.
He was the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of Tencent, fully responsible for the advertising system business of Tencent's online media business group, focusing on the advertising business and data integration of Tencent video, mobile, portal, social and other online media and WeChat. He led Tencent Advertising to win the award for the best digital advertising platform for several consecutive years and led ZenithMedia to win many industry awards.
Before joining Tencent, Steven held management positions in advertising companies in Asia Pacific, including Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. In 1995, he served as the chairman of the Hong Kong 4As Media Advertising Committee when he was the youngest Media Director in Hong Kong. In 1996, as one of the founders of Zenithmedia China, he was responsible for establishing offices, forming teams and starting to develop a large number of international and local major customers. He also served as CEO of ZenithOptimedia Greater China later, responsible for businesses in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and he became an important leader in China's advertising industry.
Steven has won numerous honors in the advertising industry, including: 2014 Marketing Influencer, 2013 Ad Person, 2012-2018 VMarketing China Top 100 Marketers, Leading Figure Award of Beijing Advertising Industry 30th Ceremony, China's Top 10 Ad Persons of China, Top 10 Digital Marketers of China, Media Person of the Year (CAAC) and etc.
Steven had served as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Marketing of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is an Advisory Board Member, NYU Shanghai and NYU Stern School of Business.
Steven graduates from Leeds University in the UK and holds an EMBA degree jointly awarded by Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Kellogg-HKUST).
