Dr. Shi Han is the International Advisor on Value Chain and Circular Economy at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) since 2019. In 2002, he is the Researcher at the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China and has been an adjunct professor at the School of Sustainability at Arizona State University since 2015. He holds an M. Phil. and Ph.D. in Industrial Ecology from Yale University, U.S.A.

Dr. Shi serves as the Chief Scientific Advisor and a member of the Expert Group of the Green Development Alliance of National Economic & Technological Development Zone of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China; a member of the Advisory Board of the China National Green Supply Chain Association.  He is also a member of the 2nd Scientific Advisory Board of the SEE Foundation and the Chief Scientific Advisor of Rheinland College of the Germany Rheinland TUV Group.

Dr. Han has over 30 years of experience in planning and implementing sustainable development in China, beginning after the Earth Summit in 1992. He has visited and consulted with more than 1,000 companies on topics including cleaner production, environmental management, circular economy, green supply chain management, ESG integration and information disclosure, and net-zero road mapping.

Since 1994, he has been employed as a consultant by international organizations such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Habitat Centre (HABITAT), the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the European Commission, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the Australian Agency for International Development and the German Ministry of the Environment.
