Mr Xu is currently employed as the Investment Director at Kunpeng Holdings Group, responsible for formulating corporate investment and development strategies (responsible for and completed the group's acquisition of a ferroalloy plant which was wholly-owned by an Australian listed company), using derivative tools to hedge risks in commodity trade and ferroalloy production, and also responsible for the group's investment in the secondary equity market.

Previously worked at China Galaxy Securities as a product manager and internal trainer, responsible for customizing and developing structured products, introducing products and technologies from overseas trading platforms, and maintaining communication and relationships with institutional clients. Prior to this, he also served as an analyst at BNP Paribas, responsible for researching private equity and real estate.

Having a Master's degree in Business Administration from Cornell University and Tsinghua University, and a Master's degree in Commerce (Finance and Accounting) from the University of Sydney. Certified CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and ACCA (Chartered Certified Public Accountant) holder, and awarded the ACCA Northern China Advocate of the year 2021. In May 2023, he was invited to serve as a part-time supervisor for the Master of Finance program at the School of Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. In July of the same year, he was invited to become a career supervisor for the CFA Association.

In 2021, he was interviewed by Bloomberg to introduce the latest developments in China's derivatives market and structured products. In March 2022, he was invited to participate in the recording of the CFA Association's podcast on "Snowball Products" that went viral. This podcast received widespread attention and was selected as a selected content for the CFA Association's Asia Pacific research platform. Subsequently, he was invited by several globally renowned financial institutions to provide training on derivative related content. Over the years, his articles have been published in authoritative financial media, such as Phoenix Finance, Sina Finance, Tencent, NetEase Finance, and Zhongxin Jingwei. He is also the translator of "The Future of the Banking Industry and Artificial Intelligence", a selection of global financial and investment masterpieces by Tsinghua University Press.
