Dr. Chee is the Director of the Smart Medical Center at National University of Singapore. He is a 2021 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Innovation Leader, implementing and managing clinical information solutions, earning the title of “Industry Pioneer". His work covers across the entire healthcare ecosystem, including the primary care sector, private and public tertiary hospitals, research institutes, government health agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) globally.
He is a recognized subject matter expert in medical technology, a World Health Organization expert (Digital Health), a Fellow of Healthcare Information and Management Systems (HIMSS), and the first of 50 top global leaders to be selected as a HIMSS Future50 Innovation Leader of Singaporeans. He is the Chairman of Health Level Seven (HL7) Singapore and a member of the founding executive committee of HL7 Asia, as well as the Chairman of the Health Informatics Technical Committee of the Singapore Standards Council. He has held various teaching positions in higher education institutions across Asia and is an academician in several countries, including Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH), Healthcare Information and Management Systems (HIMSS) Fellow, and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health Informatics (ACHI).
Dr. Chee obtained a Doctoral degree of Industrial Technology (Health Informatics), a Master's degree of Business Administration, a Master's degree of Public Health and a Master's degree of Science (Applied Computing).
