Dr. Chan has held various positions in the industry. He served as the Head of Asset Management at Hong Kong Chong Hing Bank (HKEX: 1111), where he oversaw operations, marketing, leasing, and disposal of properties in Hong Kong and mainland China. He was responsible for asset risk management, project investment analysis, negotiation, and financial risk analysis.

He has also worked as the Vice President of Real Estate Funds at China Resources Group, where he was responsible for asset operation, allocation, and management. He oversaw property assets in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and led regional investment and financing, project assessment, land investment expansion, and investment risk mitigation. He successfully acquired and operated four projects from a renowned domestic real estate group, with a total investment exceeding RMB 8 billion and assets valued at RMB 20 billion, totaling a construction area of 1.16 million square meters. Additionally, he also participated in the establishment and fundraising of two major funds, namely China Resources International Real Estate Fund I (USD 400 million) and China Resources Mall Development Fund (USD 500 million). Currently, Dr. Sidney serves as a strategic investment advisor to several benchmark enterprises, covering various sectors such as digital finance, business, training, and industry.

Dr. Chan is passionate about sharing knowledge and has extensive teaching experience. Over the past 20 years, he has taught various courses in part-time capacities at several institutions, schools, businesses, and social organizations in Hong Kong and mainland China. He has also conducted CEO training programs in multiple real estate companies.

Dr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honors) degree, a law professional degree, a Master's degree in Real Estate from the University of Hong Kong, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy (Real Estate Finance) from the same institution. He obtained these degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, and the University of Hong Kong, respectively.

In his leisure time, he enjoys participating in different sports activities such as trail running and marathons. Recently, he has developed a love for sailing. He has also transformed his passion for sports into acts of compassion and is a qualified guide runner, leading visually impaired individuals in marathons in Hong Kong and overseas to share the joy of long-distance running.
