Adjunct Professor, Chairman of IceKredit, Inc., Former Founder and Head of Model Group at ZestFinance
Dr. Lingyun Gu is the Chairman of IceKredit, an AI-driven company leveraging Large Language Models and Deep Learning to transform fraud prevention in finance. He serves as an adjunct professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, a director at the Bank of Guilin, and a board member of Nanjing International School.
Dr. Gu earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning. He also holds a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University, focusing on signal processing, and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
A prolific entrepreneur and researcher, Dr. Gu has authored numerous papers and holds 103 patents in the U.S. and China. He has received awards like the Ram Charan Management Practice Award from the Harvard Business Review and has been named among the “100 Global Innovative Entrepreneurs.”
As IceKredit’s founder, Dr. Gu oversees global operations, managing over 500 employees. The company’s credit evaluation products serve over 5 million users in Southeast Asia, 45 million subprime borrowers in the U.S., and more than 600 million individuals in China. With $156 million in funding, IceKredit operates in nine countries and has been recognized by CB Insights and KPMG as a top global FinTech company.
Dr. Gu is a keynote speaker at conferences like the G20 Summit, Money2020, and IJCAI, with his work featured in media outlets such as Forbes, LA Times, and CCTV. Previously, he founded and led the Model Group at ZestFinance, where he helped secure $78 million in Series B funding. He also served as an investment advisor for IDG-Accel Partners.
Dr. Gu’s research focuses on AI-driven fraud prevention, federated learning in finance, and credit risk knowledge graphs. His work has been published in journals like Journal of Computer-Aided Molecular Design and Frontiers in Neuroscience.
