Part-time Lecturer at HKU ICB, The former Director of the Advertising Department of China Central Television (CCTV), the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Advertising Industry Federation, and the Founder of Kai Tak Institute for Business in Hong Kong.

Mr.  Xia possesses 30 years of practical and teaching experience in advertising, media, and brand marketing management. Currently, his primary research areas include touchpoint marketing methodology, corporate media strategy, and marketing effectiveness management. With multiple patents in these fields vested in him, Mr. Xia provides consulting and educational training services for businesses.

In his directorship of the CCTV Advertising Department, Mr. Xia’s proposition of "Believing in the Power of Brands" has boosted numerous regional brands into nationally recognized ones. When working as Vice President of Phoenix Television, Mr. Xia promoted the idea of "Holistic Media Service", created the "Global Brand Project" platform, promoting the globalization of Chinese brands.

Mr. Xia has founded the Advertising Innovation Lab and the Kai Tak Institute for Business in Hong Kong, focusing on innovative solutions to practical marketing issues faced by brands. He is dedicated to running a new marketing academy through the synergy of research, production, and education.

Being a graduate with a Master’s degree in advertising from Xiamen University, Mr. Xia has taught courses such as “Advertising Media Research”, "Media Business Practices”, "Enterprise Advertising Management Practices", and "Advertiser Research" at Peking University, Renmin University of China, and Xiamen University. He has been appointed Researcher at Peking University's New Media Marketing Communication Research Center, Adjunct Professor at Xiamen University, and industry mentor for specialized Master's programmes at Renmin University of China. His essays have been published in publications like Chinese Advertising, International Advertising, and the Chinese edition of the Harvard Business Review, and he has contributed to the third edition of the China Encyclopedia in the branding section.

Mr. Xia has been presented the awards such as “Chinese Advertising Personality of the Year”, “Outstanding Contribution Award in Chinese Advertising for 30 Years”, “Top 10 Influential Figures in Branding for 40 Years”, and the “Robert Mundell World Manager Achievement Award”. He was also the Chairman of the 2023 Creative Award Judging Committee.
