Dr Emma Zhou has long been dedicated to research project management and higher education policy studies. She possesses extensive hands-on experience in initiating and managing environmental protection projects, covering key areas such as supply chain, low-carbon development, and sustainability. She actively promotes the integration of industry, academia, and research in the Greater Bay Area, building collaborative innovation platforms that connect industry, government, and professional institutions to accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Her portfolio also includes projects in green environmental protection, blue economy development, and sustainable operations. Combining global vision with strong local execution in Hong Kong, she advances industry-academia collaboration to foster sustainable development. As a council member of the Institute for Supply Management Hong Kong, she actively fosters professional collaboration between Hong Kong and Mainland China, aligning supply management experts with other professional communities. She is also the co-author of two books on supply chain industry: Supply Chain Decarbonisation: Organisation and Product Carbon Footprint and Supply Chain Decarbonisation: A Carbon Footprint Toolkit for Logistics and Transportation, both published at the Hong Kong Book Fair.

In academic research, Dr Zhou has unique insights into policy reform and the development of industry-academia collaboration. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the development of professional education in Mainland China and Hong Kong, systematically examining talent cultivation mechanisms to promote sustainable talent development and contribute to building a learning society. In addition, she has delivered multiple speeches at the Annual Conference of the Chinese Association for Hong Kong and Macau Studies and actively participated in thematic training programmes at the National Academy of Governance in Beijing and the Shanghai Academy of Governance, contributing valuable ideas for sustainable development and cross-border cooperation.

She holds an EdD from the University of Hong Kong, an MBA from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt as well as a Registered Lean Sigma Black Belt.
