Dr. Lu is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the ICB, University of Hong Kong, a distinguished Professor at Harvard University's Business Psychology program, and Chief International Finance Officer at Qianhai Industry Think Tank, formerly Chief Risk Officer of Ping An Pioneer Capital. Dr. Lu holds a PhD in applied mathematics from the renowned Courant Institute of mathematical sciences, New York University and is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Professional Risk Manager (PRM), and has professional credentials such as NASDAQ and NYSE broker dealer licenses. Dr. Lu was previously the Director of Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Interest Rate Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk at PwC and Deloitte (Hong Kong), leading the team to carry out Basel III compliant risk management consulting services for HK, mainland and overseas financial institutions. Assisted Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to deal with the 2008 Hong Kong structured product risk event (Accumulator and MiniBond) and accepted interviews and reports from Hong Kong mainstream medias and US Bloomberg
• In 2013, Dr. Lu was invited to join the three-membered overseas trading risk management expert committee to help advise the handling of Everbright Securities' 816 ETF fat-finger trading error incident
• Dr. Lu led the risk management consulting project of a Southeast Asian bank, which won the 2013 Best Risk Consultant of the Year Award in Asia by the prestigious Asian Risk Magazine
• In 2014, he led the risk management due diligence for the $1.5 billion acquisition of Noble Agribusiness by COFCO, he helped establish an effective risk management and control framework for a successful smooth acquisition
• In 2015, under his leadership, Ping An’s Pioneer Capital was ranked 4th in the "China Private Equity Stars of Tomorrow 2015" with $1.1 billion AUM
• In 2017, he led and orchestrated the strategic transformation of Pioneer capital from a private equity firm to one of the first 9 alternative investment firms in China
• In 2019, delivered a keynote speech at the annual Asia Risk Congress held in Singapore, conducted training for asian risk professionals
• During the 2020-2021 pandemic period, published an English monograph to analyze the fallout of BOC’s crude oil futures trading risk event from the perspective of trade execution structure and investment psychology
• In 2023, become the first batch of certified experts of the Global Data Elements 50 scholar Forum
