Mr Deng Yao graduated from Wuhan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Laws in his early years, then studied at the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom and obtained a Master's Degree in Intellectual Property, and also studied and visited the University of Cape Town and City University of Hong Kong in South Africa successively.

Mr Deng Yao has been practicing law in Guangzhou and Beijing since 1994 as a partner and a first class lawyer with rich experience in law practice. Mr Deng has represented a number of cases with significant impact in the industry in the field of intellectual property litigation and commercial litigation, and has been selected as a typical court case. He has also provided legal services and legislative consulting for well-known enterprises such as Microsoft, BSA Software Alliance, Odoobi, Chery, and the government. Mr Deng has served as the deputy director of the Copyright Sub-committee of the Intellectual Property Committee of the All China Lawyers Association, the director of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Guangdong Lawyers Association, and the legal advisor to the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government.

Mr Deng Yao is also a registered foreign lawyer of the Law Society of Hong Kong and has been handling cross-border legal matters for a long time. He is now the Secretary General of the Asian Innovation and Intellectual Property Society (AIIPS).

Mr. Deng Yao is committed to academic research and education and training, and has achieved fruitful research results in the fields of intellectual property law and intangible cultural heritage law. He has written and published seven books, including "Theory and Practice of Commercialisation of Intellectual Property Rights", "Commentary on Typical Intellectual Property Cases by Sponsoring Lawyers", "Intellectual Property Legal Practices in the New Circumstances", "Management and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Museums and Practices", and "Traditions Watching: Survey and Research on Intangible Cultural Heritage". He has written seven books, including "Survey and Research on Intellectual Property Issues", served as a training lecturer at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange from 2000 to 2002, and is currently employed as an external tutor at several universities and as an adjunct professor at the College of Lawyers.
