Prof. Tan has a profound interdisciplinary background in economics, management, and law, with extensive experience in teaching, research, and industry practice. He holds a PhD. in law and has postdoctoral research experience in economics. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of Guangdong Bosiyun E-commerce Co., Ltd., and Practicing Attorney at Beijing Dentons (Guangzhou) Law Firm.

Prof. Tan's main areas of teaching and research focus on commercial law and the digital economy. He has authored 9 academic monographs, published over 90 academic papers, and led more than 10 national and provincial-level projects. His academic and teaching achievements have earned him 8 provincial and municipal awards. As a part-time lawyer and arbitrator, Prof. Tan has handled over 600 legal cases of various kinds. He is a selected talent under Guangdong Province's “Thousands of Talents Project”, a high-level talent in Guangzhou, and a distinguished talent in Dongguan City. He has been honored as one of Guangzhou's top 10 outstanding young and middle-aged jurists and has received the "Outstanding Teacher in Guangdong" award.

In addition, Prof. Tan holds various academic and social positions, including: member of the Expert Observer Delegation of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), arbitrator of the Asia Pacific International Arbitration Chamber, arbitrator of the Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Center of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, and arbitrator of the Guangzhou Arbitration Commission. He is also a member of the Central Committee for Rule of Law Construction of the China Zhi Gong Party, member of the Dongguan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, deputy director of the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the China Zhigong Party, vice president of the Environmental Resources Law Research Association of the Guangdong Law Society.
