Tim Wang is the co-founder and CEO of General Water Technologies (GWT). General Water Technologies is committed to using innovative technologies to solve the global water challenges of the century: safe drinking water, water scarcity, and plastic pollution from disposable bottled water.
General Water has been recognised by Forbes Asia as one of the top 100 innovative companies to watch in 2023 (Forbes Asia 100 to Watch). General Water's strategic shareholders include GE, Gosun Capital, GGV Giga Capital, Source Capital, IDG, Stanford University and Henderson Group.
Prior to founding General Water Purification Technology, Tim had more than 20 years of experience operating in the corporate services and smart manufacturing industries. From 2010 to 2018, Tie served as a member of the Global Executive Committee, Global Executive Vice President and President of Greater China for Ecolab Group, a global leader in food safety, sanitation and water treatment, leading Ecolab Group to become a leading company in China's sanitation and water treatment industry.
Tim started his career at General Electric Company (GE), where he was involved in product management, global audit, group global strategy and mergers and acquisitions. From 2005 to 2010, Tim was General Manager of Crouse-Hinds Asia Pacific, a division of Eaton Corporation.
Tim is a member of the Aspen Institute's China Talent Programme, a Visiting Fellow of the Aspen Global Organisation, and a former Executive Director of the China Association for Health Supervision and the China Society of Food Science and Technology. He graduated from Harvard Business School as a Baker Scholar and holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
