Mr Tim Chen has over a decade of experience in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry and spent eight years studying and working in the United States. Currently, he is part of Baidu Paddle, China’s first independently developed, open-source, and industry-grade deep learning platform. Its Guangzhou Centre (Baidu Paddle GuangZhou Center), where Mr Chen is based, has been recognised as a key driver of Guangzhou's digital transformation, providing technological support and solutions for the digital upgrading of various industries. Previously, he worked as an engineer at the Silicon Valley headquarters of NVIDIA, a global leader in AI technology, and, upon returning to China, held senior executive positions at several top-tier technology companies, including WeRide, a leading autonomous driving firm.
As a seasoned expert in the field of artificial intelligence, Mr Chen is dedicated to leveraging AI technologies to empower enterprises. He leads teams in developing bespoke AI solutions for various vertical industries, including AI+Industry, AI+Urban/Community Development, AI+Legal Affairs, AI+Education, and AI+Marketing. Among the projects he has spearheaded are court-specific AI models, prosecutor-specific AI models, intelligent industrial quality inspection systems, and the co-construction of AI industry colleges with universities. These initiatives have been widely lauded and highly recognised within and beyond the industry.
Mr Tim Chen earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology, one of the top three technological universities in the United States, where he was recognised as an outstanding graduate.
