Geoff Li has 20 years of experience in public relations and brand management with multinational companies. He worked as Director of Communications at General Electric (GE) Greater China in 2002-2016, and held communications positions at General Motors China, Brilliance Auto, and San Miguel Brewing International in 1996-2001. Before entering the corporate he was a journalist, working at Xinhua News Agency London Bureau (1993-1996), and Xinhua News Agency International News Department in Beijing (1989-1992).
Geoff Li’s expertise spans brand strategy, advertising, communications, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and employer brand. He led GE Greater China team to execute significant brand marketing projects including sponsorship to Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, sponsorship to USA Pavilion, Shanghai EXPO 2010, as well as integrated marketing communications for the company’s aviation, energy, healthcare businesses and GE China’s sustainability and employer brand.
Geoff received bachelor’s degree of English literature from University of International Relations, and master’s degree of journalism from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is the author of 3 books, Golden Collar’s Diary – Why Leaders Never Get Ill; A Practical Guide of Brand and Communications; Winning in Crisis – A Self-saving Communication Guide in the All Media Era.
