Mr. Alan Lau is a seasoned private equity investment professional with more than 20 years of experience in private equity investment, mergers & acquisitions and corporate strategy development. Mr. Lau has hands on experience in M&A execution and stakeholder management for private equity manager and listed companies. His transactions experience cover a wide range of regions like PRC, HKSAR, US, Europe and Israel.
Mr. Lau is currently working for APlus Partners Asset Management as a founding team member and Managing Director. He is mainly responsible for private equity investment, fund establishment, fund operation and post-investment management for APlus Partners. Prior to founding APlus Partners, Mr. Lau worked for China Everbright Limited (HKEX: 0165.HK) during 2010 to 2020 as an Investment Director. He was responsible for the direct investment and exit management of China Everbright Limited’s principal investment and FoF investment. He also worked in the Merger & Acquisition Department of China Everbright Limited, focusing on overseas M&A, restructuring and IPO investments, and was mainly responsible for the investment of two private equity funds, namely CEL Global Investment Fund, L.P. and CEL Catalyst China Israel Fund. Prior to joining China Everbright Limited, Mr. Lau worked for the Financial Advisory Services Group of Deloitte China as a senior associate, specialising in providing independent valuation advice and financial modelling analysis to corporations and asset managers.
Mr. Lau is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and a member of Mergers and Acquisitions Association (CMAA). He is also a judge for "Best Research Report Competition" organized by CFA Society Hong Kong.
Mr. Lau graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with first class honours in Business Administration and subsequently obtained a Master's degree in Law and Accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the United Kingdom.
