Professor Xiaojun Wang is Chair Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management and currently serves as the School Research Output Lead at Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham. He received his PhD in Management Studies from the University of Liverpool, an MSc in e-Business Management from the University of Warwick, and a BSc in Computer Science from Zhejiang University. Before joining the University of Birmingham, Professor Wang was Professor of Operations Management and Head of Operations and Management Science, Innovation & Healthcare Academic Group at the University of Bristol’s School of Management. Professor Wang’s research focuses on supply chain management, coopetition strategy, digital innovation, healthcare operations, and applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognised journals, including Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, British Journal of Management, European Journal of Operational Research, and Journal of Business Ethics, among others. His research has been supported by major funding bodies such as UKRI, the Royal Society, the Newton Fund, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Professor Wang has taught extensively at executive, postgraduate, and undergraduate levels in leading universities, delivering modules in Operations Management, Digital Transformation, Supply Chain Analytics, and Business Analytics. He has also served as an external examiner for degree programmes at the University of Cambridge, University of Warwick, and University of Liverpool. Professor Wang’s international standing is demonstrated by his consecutive inclusion in Stanford University’s list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists (career and single-year citation impact) and his recognition as one of the top Business and Management scientists in the UK by Research.com.
