Mr Fang Yuan is the Founding Managing Partner of Starquest Capital, overseeing fund-of-funds investments, fundraising, and overall operations. Founded in 2017, the firm focuses on direct investments and fund-of-funds in new economy sectors, with approximately RMB 8 billion under management. 

Previously, he served as Global Partner and Head of China at LGT Capital Partners for 12 years, where he developed a rich international investment perspective and extensive cross-market experience. 

In May 2025, he was appointed as a Member of the Listing Committee of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) and currently serves as a Member of the Equity Investment Expert Committee of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission. Mr Fang has extensive experience in executive and postgraduate education. Since 2018, Mr. Fang has been delivering part-time teaching at multiple business schools. He serves as an Industry Mentor at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, an Expert Advisor to the overseas EMBA programs of the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University, and an Industry Advisor to the Entrepreneur Camp at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). 

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and serves as a Committee Member of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Foundation , and holds an MBA from INSEAD and an EMBA from Tsinghua University. He has over 20 years of professional experience in financial services.
