Charleston Sin is a champion for innovation and the disruptive application of new technologies in local and international communities. As a 25-year veteran of the information technology and telecommunications industry, he now serves as the Executive Director of the MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, which organizes and advocates for innovation in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific.
Prior to joining MIT, Sin held executive positions in research & development, product management, and sales & marketing at VMware, Cisco Systems, and Nortel Networks in the United States, Canada, Asia Pacific, and Greater China. His primary interests lie in key technological trends, including AI, blockchain, data science, digital health, fintech, and sustainability. Sin is a frequent public speaker on entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology.
Sin received his PhD in Management Sciences at The University of Waterloo in Canada. He serves on the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company, a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors (FHKIoD), and a Vice President of the eHealth Consortium.
