Dr Qin is the former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Honeywell's Intelligent Building Technologies Group for Greater China, Asia Pacific and India, where he had overall responsibility for the Group's technology innovation and product development across Greater China and Asia Pacific. Prior to this, Dr Qin was Vice President of Greater China and Asia Pacific for Honeywell's Intelligent Building Technologies Group and Vice President of Greater China and India for the Safety and Productivity Solutions Group. He was responsible for the strategic digital transformation of seven separate businesses within the Automated Control Systems Group in the region, and successfully launched two "start-up" business units within the organisation.

Dr Qin also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ackles Asia Pacific, a leading Australian private equity firm. Dr Qin was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Eckles Asia Pacific, a leading Australian private equity firm. As an operating partner hired by the private equity fund, Dr Qin led the Ackles Asia Pacific team in strategic acquisitions, new product development, operational improvements, and market development, tripling the business in six years and ultimately helping the private equity fund to sell Ackles to Honeywell.

Dr Qin also served as Managing Director of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration Greater China, a division of United Technologies Group, and Vice Chairman of the Joint Venture between United Technologies Group and Haier Group's Refrigeration Division. Prior to returning to China in 2003, Dr Qin held various leadership positions at Verizon Communications for nearly a decade, including managing the largest corporate pension fund in the United States.

Dr Qin holds a DBA in Management from the University of Manchester, UK and an MBA from New York University, USA.
